How fit do I need to be to do this trek?

Annapurna Base Camp is a Grade B or a moderately difficult trekking route. So any fit person can do this trek, even if you do not have any previous experience. You should be aware of what to expect and mentally prepare for it. Then, as long as you will to, you can.

What is the highest altitude reached in this trek?

The highest altitude reached is 4190m. This is the elevation of Annapurna Base Camp. ABC is the highest we will climb in this trek.

What about battery charging and hot shower facilities?

Yes, you can charge batteries en route. Charger should be brought. There are hot shower facilities as well. You may have to pay certain amount for both ($1-$2). Negotiate. Also, hot water facility could be free at lower elevation.

Are there ATMs on the way to Annapurna Base Camp?

No. There are no ATMs on this trek route. You will have to draw enough cash in Pokhara or Kathmandu. There are a number of ATMs in these cities. Everything is paid in Nepali rupees. So money should be exchanged before the start of the trek.

What about internet access?

Yes. Internet can be accessed in most places. Sometimes, there might be some technical problems. Internet in Nepal is not as fast as you are used to and at times you can just lose connection.

Day 1 :

Delhi – Leh (By Flight)

On arrival at Leh airport, you will meet our representative at the airport and check in at the hotel. Complete day for the acclimatization in Leh, which is 3500 Mtrs above sea level. In the evening go for a short work around the Leh bazaar. Overnight Stay at the hotel.

Day 2 :

Leh

Today we explore this capital of this ancient Buddhist Kingdom by visiting stock Palace , Leh Palace and Shanti Stupa . Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 3 :

Leh

Morning excursion to Indus valley to visit Shey Palace , Hemis & and Thiksey Monastery . In the, afternoon visit Hemis Gompa and drive back to Leh . Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 4 :

Leh – Uleytokpo

After breakfast at the hotel, leave for Uleytokpo. Upon arrival in Uleytokpo, start a short trek of 30 minutes to reach the monastery at Rizong, the school where young lamas are taught Buddhism. Surrounded by peach and apple trees, you are right over a cliff on the river Indus. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 5 :

Uleytokpo – Lamayuru – Alchi – Uleytokpo

Have breakfast and leave for your Moonland tour on the way to Lamayuru. Visit Lamayuru and drive back to Uleytokpo via Alchi Monastery. Alchi has murals paintings dating back to the 11th century and is perhaps one of the oldest monasteries in Ladakh. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 6 :

Uleytokpo – Leh

Leave for Leh and on the way visit the monastery at Likir, Spituk and Phyang. Reach Leh by late afternoon and relax for the day. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 7 :

Leh – Khardung La – Sumoor – Nubra

In the morning leave for Nubra enroute the world’s highest motorable road Khadung-La at the altitude of 5800mts above sea level. Nubra has been opened for tourists only recently, and has some splendid landscapes. Reach Nubra valley and check in at a deluxe tented accommodation in Sumoor. Bathe in the natural hot springs at Panamik. Overnight Stay at the camp.

Day 8 :

Nubra Valley

Begin an excursion to the greater Himalayas including a visit to Hundar and Diskit monasteries which also happens to be the seat of the Dalai Lama in Nubra with a palace which is dedicated to the Lama. There is also a world renowned Bhuddist monastery at Hundar. Stop to see the double hump camels on your way back to your camps. Enjoy a camel ride on the desert terrain. Overnight stay at the camp.

Day 9 :

Nubra - Leh

In the morning drive back to Leh and check in at the hotel. The rest of the day is free to relax or to explore the city your own. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 10 :

Departure from Leh

Transfer to airport for departure to your destination
